Physical Therapy Programs
Cash-Based PT
At Pelvic Solutions, we are considered an out-of-network provider. We feel that insurance should not restrict the type of care patients receive and the number of visits allowed to achieve patient goals. We want our focus to be on our patients and their healthcare needs, not on the third party payer. Payment is due at the time of service via cash, check, debit/credit card, or HSA/FSA. A superbill will be provided at patients’ request to allow for reimbursement from insurance companies.

Initial Evaluation
During the initial evaluation patients can expect to spend one-on-one time with a Doctor of Physical Therapy to address all of your pelvic floor and musculoskeletal concerns. A comprehensive evaluation will be performed to determine a physical therapy diagnosis based on exam results. Patients can expect testing of select muscle groups including an internal/external examination given patients permission in order to create a plan of care that meets the patients goals. Follow-Up Treatment Sessions
Treatment sessions will be a progression from the initial evaluation including individualized hands-on techniques based on patient needs. Additional assessments can be expected to ensure exercises/stretches are being performed appropriately and education will be provided on how to progress the patient’s individualized home exercise program to continue meeting goals. Sessions can be scheduled 2-3 weeks out at a time. Patients will have access to a DPT each visit and following, being provided with the therapist email and phone number.

Postpartum Exercise Guide
Purchase our postpartum exercise guide weeks 0-6 to help your body recovery from labor and delivery. Within the guide are tips for weekly-biweekly exercise, a written description on deep core exercises (including how to activate the muscle responsible for helping to close diastasis recti separation!), and tips on how to prevent leakage, prolapse symptoms, nagging back pain, etc.

Dry Needling
Dry needling is a technique involving the use of a thin filiform needle to penetrate the skin and release active myofascial trigger points that may be causing referred pain and reduction in range of motion. Research suggest that dry needling improves pain control and reduces muscle tension, speeding up a patient’s return to active rehab.
Dry needling in the state of VA does not require a physicians referral as of 7/1/23.
